Science Fun
Science is a real hit with 4th class A especially when we get to do different experiments. Our wave machines were great fun to make and learn about. Have a look at the pictures below.
4th class A have started off the year with some wonderful collaborative art. All the children let their creative talents flow and worked together to create a wonderful piece of art.
We're developing our thoughts about self identity in 4th class A over the course of September. We drew beautiful pictures of our unique families and discussed what makes them special.
Welcome Back
Welcome back 4th class A. I can't wait to start off the year again with such a wonderful bunch of children.
Busy Bees
In 3rd class A we have been busy bees for the month of June as we have been learning all about bees. We have learned loads of new facts about bees and how they are so important to our environment. Have a look at our cool printing of the bee hive. You'll never guess how we created our hexagon honey effects.
Weaver Park
The children in 3rd class A made a huge effort to be in on time every day this week. As a special reward the children were brought to Weaver Park where we had loads of fun playing. Thanks to all parents for making such a great effort too. We had lots of fun.

World Book Day
On the 7th of March we celebrated World Book Day. It was a huge success with so many of the children dressing up as their favourite character from a book. Some of the teachers got in on the act too. Have a look and see can you recognise any of these characters below?

Pancake Tuesday
We were well prepared for pancake Tuesday this year. We made our pancake batter in class on Monday so that on Tuesday we had delicious pancakes. We used our multiplication skills to figure out how much of each ingredient we needed and measured everything carefully. On Tuesday we enjoyed our pancakes with lots of different toppings.

Grandparent's Day
We celebrated grandparent's day last week in Scoil Treasa. We were so lucky that so many of our wonderful grandparents could come and visit our class. We made cards for all our grandparents even if they couldn't make it on the day and we asked some tough questions to the grandparents who did visit. I know all of 3rd class would really like to thank all the grandparents for coming as it was a wonderful experience.

Pyramids
This month we have been learning all about Ancient Egypt. To coincide with this we made pyramids from clay. We enjoyed working with the clay and loved painting them too.
Christmas Crafts
For Christmas the children in 3rd class A created winter wonderland scenes as well as some fabulous winter themed houses using recycled milk cartons.

Piet Mondrain
Recently the children studied the work of famous painter Piet Mondrain. We looked at his paintings and responded and then created our own interpretations of his work. Have a look below.

Tree Day
We have been busy learning all about trees and how they grow this week. We have embarked on a very special project which will last many months. We collected lots of different kinds of nuts and seeds such as acorns, hazelnuts, beech nuts, conkers and ash samara. We have planted some of these into pots and look forward to seeing if they will grow.

Shape Trail
The children are learning all about 2D shapes this week. The whole class got the opportunity to go on a shape trail around the school. They found lots of different shapes outside and inside. They also investigated which shapes tessellate and which don't. Take a look at their work below.

Recount Writing
The children in 3rd class A have been busy all month writing wonderful and exciting recounts. Take a look at some of the children hard at work. We can't wait to show all the parents our published work during our writing celebration coming up soon.

Fun with Science
This week we had loads of fun learning about mixing in Science. We made our very own bubble mixture using washing-up liquid and water. We had to be careful to measure properly and not to over mix our mixture. We then made our bubble wands using pipe cleaners and we were ready. Have a look at our amazing bubbles below.

Welcome back 3rd class A
We are delighted to be back to school after our summer holidays. We are excited for the year ahead and can't wait to get started. We are so lucky in 3rd class A because we have 2 new students who have joined our class. So we want to say a huge welcome to Clara and Ezzaldeen.

Welcome First Class A

We are very happy to be back at school after what felt like a long summer. Our new class room is very big and we are looking forward to working very hard and showing our new teacher our best work. Have a look at us on our first week back looking super happy and excited to be at school.

October Art- Trees!!

We were learning all about trees in October and really enjoyed it. In art we looked at how two famous artists based their art work on TREES and we felt very inspired. Have a look at our creations.

Green Gladiators! 💚

During Green Schools awareness week, we made a video to show the other classes just how well we are recycling in First Class A. We had a lot of fun creating the video and we think our school mates really liked it too. During this week we also learned about climate change and about how humans are affecting animals lives. We were horrified and really don't want anymore to become extinct.

Write to Read Celebration 📝🎉

We were soo excited to have our parents join us in class to read our stories we had written. We had all worked so hard on writing and designing our books and were delighted with how our parents enjoyed them.
Perhaps we will become famous authors!

Sam Maguire visit

On Wednesday the 14th of December, members of Dublin GAA brought the Sam Maguire cup into our school. It was a very fun morning. Maybe Mayo might have a chance of winning it next year....

Santa Visit

On Friday the 20th of December, First Class had a very important visitor! Mr. Claus brought presents for everyone and we were all thrilled. We define you deserved them after working so hard since September.
