Writing Celebration Day!
On November 24th, STN held a fantastic celebration of our amazing authors in every class. We certainly did have a lot to celebrate - it was great to see and listen to all the published pieces in every class; great narrative stories with illustrations, fantastic procedural writing, an array of creative poetry and amazing art as well as some literacy projects on our chromebooks! Thank you to all our parents and families that were able to attend. It was so great to see many of you!

Minister Heather Humphreys visits Scoil Treasa Naofa
|
On Wednesday 6th March, the Minister for Social Protection, Heather Humphreys TD visited Scoil Treasa Naofa. The visit was part of an evaluation to be undertaken of the School Meals Programme.
Minister Humphreys enjoyed chatting to our 2nd class and meeting our new Ukranian pupils. See the photos below of lots of happy faces! Our pupils even appeared on Virgin Media News and some appeared in the national newspapers! Minister Humphreys got to hear all about the new lunches and saw a video of just how popular they are in Scoil Treasa Naofa. Judging by this video, it's safe to say that the lunches in Scoil Treasa are a big hit! We hope that pupils all over the country get to experience the loveliness of having a warm meal in the middle of the day just like our pupils! |

First Holy Communion & Confirmation Days 2021
There was great excitement in Scoil Treasa Naofa when our deferred Communion and Confirmations for academic year 2020/2021 were able to take place in September 2021! Spread over two weekends and three masses in St. Teresa's Church Donore Avenue, these celebrations all went off really well. Thanks to Fr. John, Fr. David, and Sam for the smooth running of the services and thanks to class teachers Ms. Slammon and Ms. Spillane for their preparations with their classes, ranging from in class preparations to online Zoom sessions to church practises. Thanks also to Aisling for her lovely Art work and Breda for helping with the posters. There is also one special person who didn't make the services in person but who had a big hand in the preparation and that is Fr. Alois who we know was tuning into the masses via webcam. We thank him for all he did before he left to start a new position in his homeland of Passau, Germany and we wish him the best of luck!
Finally, we are grateful for the patience and co-operation shown by the Sacrament candidates and their families and we hope they all had fantastic celebration days. We know that it was worth the long wait!

We know that so many people including parents and guardians of Scoil Treasa Naofa pupils, are working tirelessly on the frontline to help those who are sick. Others are working in retail to make sure we can get food, medical supplies and other essentials. As your teachers, we know that our jobs are not vital in comparison to these but we are working hard to make sure you can continue your learning. That's what makes this video so special for us! We absolutely loved it and we thank you for taking the time to do this for us. But in return we want to extend a thank you to all of you, Scoil Treasa Naofa pupils and your families. We thank you for helping us to help you! Lets keep it going!
Ní neart go cur le chéile!!

Grandparent's Day 2019
On Wednesday 30th January we had a lovely celebration for Grandparent's Day. Our hall was full with Grandparents of children from all classes. We were delighted that so many Grannies and Grandas could come on such a cold Winter's day, but I think the songs and stories that followed made it worth the effort.
After a lovely assembly, all Grandparents went to visit their grandchildren's classes to tell some stories and answer some questions about their own school days.
They followed this with up some photos to remember the day....

Christmas Carols 2018
This year our school choir went on two visits to Bellevilla Community Unit on South Circular Road and we also went to Our Lady's Children's Hospital in Crumlin to spread some festive cheer. Ms Cabe and Ms Spillane would like to say a huge thank you to all the wonderful singers - not just for their lovely carols but for the friendliness and kindness they showed to every single person they met this week. They even called at T.J's Grandad's door for a quick song and sang a few carols for Martin, and for the parents at our last assembly of the year. Thank you to all the teachers who helped with all the rehearsing, and who came on these trips as well. Have a look below at some photos of the choir this week!
Merry Christmas to all of our children, their families, neighbours and staff! We hope it will be a happy, peaceful holiday for everyone.. See you all in the New Year!
Raising Our Green Flag!
Monday 26th June was a very proud day for Scoil Treasa Naofa as we raised out first Green Flag. Teachers, children and parents came together to celebrate the special event. Ryan Tubridy did the honours of raising the flag but not before we celebrated the occasion with music and songs from different classes and even an "ear wriggling" competition between Ryan Tubridy and one of our 3rd class pupils!
Ryan answered lots of questions from the children but unfortunately we didn't get any tickets for the toy show (despite our best efforts!)
It was a particularly proud day for Ms. Ronan and the entire Green School Committee who finally got to see all their hard work and dedication be rewarded.
After Ryan raised the flag the children were surprised by the arrival of an Ice-Cream van to the school!
It was fantastic day of celebration for the entire school community. Please take a look at our slide show below to see some fun bits from our day...

Greystones to Bray 2017
On Wednesday 21st of June we went on our annual sponsored walk along the coastal path from Greystones to Bray. Dublin Bus kindly provided us with transport for the day and Glanmore Foods generously provided lots of delicious picnic food that we all needed at the end of the walk! Thankfully the weather was glorious, and we got to enjoy the beautiful scenery all along the coast without worrying about rain. Lots of parents joined us for the walk and we want to thank them for making the event fun and safe for all involved. Thank you as always to Mr.Comaskey who puts a huge effort into organising the walk every year - it really is one of the big days out that everyone enjoys! Well done to the younger children in particular, who did the whole walk with great energy. There was a real sense of school spirit and accomplishment when we reached the end together! It was a very successful fundraiser and we will use the money raised to buy a charging dock for our new school tablets.

Grandparent's Day
On Friday 3rd February we celebrated Grandparent's Day in Scoil Treasa Naofa. Following a performance by 3rd Class of the Haka as Gaeilge, we had a poem from Senior Infants and a sing song with the choir. The children loved having their Grandparents come to visit their classroom. It was really interesting to hear stories about when they were in school. Thank you to everyone who came to visit and helped make the day a success.

Proclamation Day 2016
On Tuesday 15th of March primary schools all around the country took part in an event to commemorate the 1916 Rising. Proclamation Day was a huge success and we would like to thank all who attended our special event. Highlights of our event included the raising of the tricolour – which had been presented to our school at a ceremony earlier in the academic year, signing our national anthem, a recitation of the proclamation and our proclamation for a new generation (recited by children from sixth class - Shantell, Ross, Carmel, Zuhire, Brooke and Conor) Check out the photos above and videos below. (The proclamation was read out by Mayson, Evelina, Abigail, Nathan, Jamie, Owen, AbdEl Nour, Harry, Evan, Jarrett, Malek and Danilo.) Every class put huge time and effort into preparing for the event and their projects and artwork were simply outstanding. Well done!

Presentation Of The National Flag
To commemorate the centenary of the 1916 Rising and to celebrate 100 years since the Proclamation of the Irish Republic, we were delighted to welcome members of the Defence Forces to our school on Tuesday 17th November.
Tadhg and Rihanna were delighted to accept the National Flag and a copy of the 1916 Proclamation on behalf of the school. Sergeant Stephen Bailie and Sergeant William Kent, members of the Irish Air Corps, formally made the presentation.
The Defence Forces taught the children about how the National Flag should be cared for and the protocol that surrounds this vibrant symbol of our nation.
Sergeant Kent read the Proclamation to the children with the help of Tyler in 4th class.

Cash for Clobber
Fancy getting rid of your old unwanted clothes and raise some much needed funds for the school at the same time? It's easy!
All you need to do is fill one of the cash for clobber bags with old clothes, bedding pairs of shoes and other textiles (no duvets or pillows please) then drop the bags in the school shed. We will arrange for the bags to be collected once we have enough. The bags will be then weighed and the nice people in Cash for Clobber will send us a cheque. Every item you send in will either be re-used or recycled. For further information please see www.cashforclobber.ie
